Issues Related to Eschatology
July 14th, 2009 by James GrantAndy Naselli provided a helpful post explaining Tom Schreiner’s recent shift from the amillennial position to a premillennial position once Schreiner preached on Revelation 20. He also provided links to Mark Dever’s sermon on Revelation 20 where Dever explains how it is a sin to sever cooperation with other believers over escathological issues. After posting these things, Andy was interviewed by Kevin Bolin: “Are Millennial Views Essential?“

Of course, Amillennialism isn’t about a particular understanding of Rev. 20, but rather it is a way of approaching the Bible. My whole theology of the Psalms, Gospels and Paul’s letters would be radically altered if I abandoned my Amillennial position. Because of that, I am surprised that someone could shift on the reading of one chapter! I wonder how this change will affect his entire theology?
