Thanks James. He’s a great writer! But he seems more than a bit annoyed with having to stoop to answer the ignoramuses who have failed to understand, or more probably, failed even to try to understand him. We all really don’t have any business toeing off with an Oxford don of Wright’s caliber anyway.
Here’s my favorite part: “We are not in dialogue.I have been writing about St. Paul now, on and off, for thirty-five years. I have prayed, preached and lectured my way through his letters. I have written popular-level commentaries on all of them, a full-length commentary on his most important one, and several other books and articles, at various levels, on particular Pauline topics.”
I love how he says, “we’re not in dialogue,” And then lists his credentials. It’s great! If we want to know anything, we should sit at his feet and drink whatever flows out of his mouth.

Tom,
Let me go out on a limb: sarcasm?
I can usually tell, but it’s been a long week!

I’ve read the book, it’s pretty good.
