Ed Clowney’s Influence on Tim Keller
October 7th, 2008 by James GrantThe Crossway Blog was reflecting on Tim Keller’s upcoming book, The Prodigal God, and mentioned the influence of Edmund Clowney on Keller’s work. Keller says in the Introduction:
Many excellent studies have been written on this Biblical text over the last several years, but the foundation for my understanding of it was a sermon I heard preached over thirty years ago by Dr. Edmund P. Clowney. Listening to that sermon changed the way I understood Christianity. I almost felt I had discovered the secret heart of Christianity.
Crossway has made Clowney’s sermon available online for download here. It is from chapter 3 of Clowney’s book of sermons published by Crossway. It is a book well worth owning, as is this one by Clowney. I also linked to several of Clowney’s audio resources here.

I’m telling you James, every time I visit your blog IT COSTS ME MONEY!
And I’m grateful.
(The Carson and Beale book you recommended regarding the NT interpretation of the OT has been awesome in my teaching of Matthew this Fall.)
