Thank God that Christ's work in the covenant of redemption makes the Spirit's work in the elect legally necessary. That necessity of the Spirit's work renders any future apostasy of the elect <i>ontologically</i> impossible. That same covenant-work and positive righteousness of Christ makes any future condemnation of the elect <i>legally</i> impossible. Thus, the righteousness of Christ renders both legal condemnation and ontological apostasy impossible for the elect. Excellent post!
